Foreword
Natural killer cells (NK cells) are crucial immune cells in the body, playing roles not only in antitumor activity, antiviral defense, and immune regulation, but also participating in hypersensitivity reactions and the development of autoimmune diseases under certain conditions. They are capable of recognizing and killing target cells.
Traditional NK cell culture media typically contain heterologous serum components, such as bovine serum or other animal-derived ingredients. This introduces risks of contamination with exogenous viruses and pathogenic factors during cell culture, leading to poor reproducibility of products and experimental results. Developing serum-free media can reduce variables in the experimental process, minimize batch-to-batch variations in media, enhance experimental reproducibility and standardization, while simultaneously avoiding ethical concerns associated with animal serum use. This aligns with the sustainability and ethical trends in modern biotechnology.
Product Introduction
bioGenous™ NK Cell Expansion Medium (Serum-Free) is a specially formulated medium designed for the efficient in vitro expansion of human NK cells. The entire culture process requires no serum and contains no heterologous components. This medium contains all essential nutrients required for NK cell growth, supporting both the expansion and differentiation of NK cells derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). It is also suitable for the reactivation culture of NK cells. The expanded NK cells can support various in vitro studies, including drug activity assays and co-culture experiments with organoids. Consequently, this medium serves as an ideal assistant for NK cell-related research.
Product Features
Free from heterologous components; clearly defined chemical composition
Serum-free, pure factor reagent kit
Manufactured and managed under GMP standards
Suitable for inducing NK cells from peripheral blood and umbilical cord blood
Enables highly efficient in vitro expansion of NK cells
Product Data Presentation
Initial cell count: 10,000 cells per well. Perform a 50% medium change every two days, replenishing with fresh medium. After 15 days of culture, distinct cell clusters become visible.
